Bought a jeep!
« on: 02/ 9/08 - 01:09PM »
I had a yj for my first car, and just bought another this morning. It's a monster. Plan on getting it out on a trail in a couple weeks. (I'm having it trailered down to springfield from st. louis)

I haven't decided if I'm going to sell my car or not, this isn't much of a dd, but I don't commute

302 ford v8 inside, sounds awesome. (yes, those are 38.5" SS's)

the jeep has brand new gauges, the tach works, odometer works, but the speedo doesn't. Anyone think they can walk me through the setup, or wanna come over some weekend?

(note: jeep not even in springfield yet, might be 2 weeks)

Also, it has no doors, or soft top/hard top. It has what is in the picture. If anyone sees red doors around. PM me, Thanks

WOW, thats a nice one ALMOST too pretty to get beat up on the trails. I agree, the square headlights really look great.

I completely disagree.... It's ALMOST too built to bother getting licensed :)

Something beefy, not stock. The rear end I think is a big ford, don't know what the front is. I know I can lock the front diff from the drivers seat. It's sweet.

From the original ad, that I bought it from:
"302 ford v-8, t-18 4speed w/granny low. 8.8 , w/4:10"

8.8 is the rear end out of a ford explorer, or mercury mountaineer. there are fairly strong, but with that much power, and tires that big and stickey. you might want to look into a super 88 kit for it. its a kit with sronger alloy shafts and better bearings.

if you look at the first picture, i have a piece of black diamond plate looking trim above the front fender on the panel where the hood clamps attach. its not really fastened down and I don't want to drill into that panel. Could I use an adhesive, or a double sided tape. Any suggestions?

those come with 3M tape to put on. so you should be able to find some kind of 2 sided tape at ACE to hold it down.

pretty sure i seen this jeep the other night at the gas station at grand and campbell by my house. You and the chick (it was funny watching her climb out) looked cold with no doors.
Dude......I don't think thats gonna buff out.

That ain't rust...Their custom lightening holes.
