New Site Info - Please Read.

Well the new site is up, the forums and gallery are functioning and integrated with eachother. There are several graphical issues that I will be addressing over the next few days.

Here are a couple of things everyone should know...

1. User selectable themes. Basically this will be so that you can choice between LIGHT and DARK color on the site. As well as swap out the picture in the background (YJ, Cherokee, RUBICON, etc.) I'm thinking this will be for paid club members only.
2. The home page will be getting much attention. I just wanted to focus all time on the forums and gallery and get these operational.
3. YOU will need to transfer your photos from the old site.
4. I will be adding fields to your profile so you can fill in info about your Jeep. You'll need to copy what you can from the old site or fill in new info.
6. Everyones signature is missing the first letter. (weird, I know.. but it just came over that way)
5. There is more, much more.. I will post it as I think of it.
6. I'll be adding more smileys... some of the old ones.

ANy way to adjust the color of the fonts.  It is almost transluscent against the white background of the message box.

Move your mouse into the text box and it changes the text to maroon and much easier to read.

is there a way to view it like the old site? the new one looks nice, but it takes too dang long to load. i wont get on it much, cause i dont have all day for it to load.

i mean it looks nice, but a little overboard for those without highspeed internet

shouldn't take that long... really the only graphic that is of any count size-wize is the background image. Once it loads once. The rest of the site is text and small graphics. After you load it the first time your done... won't have to load it again, unless you have your browser set to load images every time your come to a page and not to cache them. You can change that in your options somewhere.

Okay, I just checked the site out on a dial-up connection and it loaded fine. Slow, a bit, but nothing drastic like you are saying... and actually loaded faster than what I expected for a crummy connection. 

Internet service is just like anything else... you get what you pay for.

mine loads 75% fairly fast, then it says loading like 30 images of the little stuff.  remember, i like out in the country and dont get the same stuff you do. the phone lines are not updated like the ones around springfield, so your dial up no matter what it is will be much faster than mine.

i was just asking, cause if it takes forever to load, i will limit my usage of it do to a lack of patience.

it doesnt load every image each time, but it still takes a while. plus my cookies are set to clear every 7 days.

Not that it matters, but when I had dialup in the country with Alltel (now Windstream) my connection with Earthlink was better/ faster than Earthlink connecting through SBC here in Springfield.  I now have Mediacom cable modem.
