I'm visiting my parents in Lampe for a couple of months and would really like to do a bit of driving off-road.  Can someone point me in the right direction for somewhere close to do some wheeling?  Directions our GPS coords are fine.

Looking forward to meeting other 4x4 folks.

Check out SMORR.net  good offroad park not far from Branson that we all frequent.

Thanks!  How about something closer like a Class 4 road or short trail?  Not looking to trespass on anyone's land.

Click this link and then check out Big M near Cassville, MO

It's state park land and there are lots of trails to explore.  Best not to go alone though.
I'd put something funny here, but you probably wouldn't get it anyway...

Thanks for the great tip.  Can you be a bit more specific about where to go?  Do I just drive up to the gate and ask the ranger where to go or just drive around looking for trails?

A town road that is not maintained.  These are typically very, very old roads.
