An AMC Diesel?

I had a question, I was looking through the NADA values of older jeeps and when I looked up the value on my 86 CJ7, it asked if I had a diesel motor. Did AMC even have a diesel? I have never heard of it and now it has me curious! Anyone else ever heard of one?

AMC used the Renault deisel in the early XJ's, but I don't believe they ever put it in the CJ.
