Great Idea for get together place!

OK, I have become officially a fan of a place in Spfld called 1984.  From the looks of the SMORR Arcade section, many of you have already discovered it.  This a game room at Walnut and Jefferson across from the YMCA downtown.  You pay $5 to walk in and play all your favorite video games from the 80 for as long as you want: ASteroids, Pac Men, Centipede, TRON, etc...  the only thing you pay anymore for is .25 for Pinball.  

Also have other console games, Simple Simon, and all your favorite 80's Music Videos... you remember... when MTV played Music Videos instead of reality shows!  

Anyway, you can reserve a room for $25 per hour and pay $5 per head and have a party.  It's different and extremely kid friendly.  You might even find a video game you can beat your 10 yr old on... become an undefeatable hero again!

Anyway, I don't know who arranges the meet and greets, but this place is killer!  

go to 1984arcade.com and check it out... tell 'em Jesse the "Gorf God" sent you (special prizes for setting highest scores ever on a machine).

Whoever gets the Director of Events this sounds like a great place to hold a family night event. Keep this in mind!

Yes this is a very cool place, it's fun to just go hang out and play old school games.  If you talk to the guys there they can set you up on a night where there is a hardly anyone there.  We had a work party there on a Thursday night (yes a bunch of computer geeks, imagine that) and we were the only ones in the joint.

Just to let you know, they have a "Party/Meeting Room" that you can rent for $25/hr plus $5/head during normal hours.  

For $75/hr (min 2 hours) plus $5/head you can have the place during off hours opened only for the OJT!  

You can bring in food but not drinks as they provide, but drinks are 1/2 off to attendees w/ room.  

Can't wait!
