want some opinions
« on: 06/11/07 - 10:30PM »
im trying to decide what size lift to get. i am looking at 3" or 4.5" lift.  i already have an idea what size i want, but i am wanting some input.  i am keeping my tires for now since i just got them.  they are 235/75/15.  i know they will be a little small looking, but hey i will have lots of travel.

What do you guys think?

what size tires do you plan on going with? what year jeep you got?

you could just slowly piece components together over a few months and then put all on at once. and while you are doing the SYE you should go ahead and some kind of belly up too.

We would really need more info to give you a proper answer.

How big of tires do you want to run?  Is this mainly a play rig and are you going to be wanting to keep stepping up?  You willing to cut it up?  Does the lift budget allow for just a case drop or a SYE and new rear shaft?

for tire size i dont want to go any bigger than 32's - 33's since it will also be my daily driver and eventually i would like to step up to a 6.5" lift but thats goin to be awhile.  i will be doing a case drop for now but when i go bigger then i will look into the new shaft and sye.

this is a 1994 XJ sport 4x4
4.0  6 cyl
all stock right now

i am getting ready to build my own front and rear steel bumpers and the front will end up with a winch on it.  (heck maybe i can win one of those at the meetings as well, since my hi-lift looks nice on top of the jeep  )

I have thought about piecing together a lift, if i did it would probably be on the taller end between 4.5" - 6"/6.5"

No lift. Just trim to fit. Low rider with big tires is pimpin.
ith a Bocephus sticker on his 442,
he'd light em up just for fun!

If you plan to do 33's at some point then i would do the 4.5".  Then cut to fit when you get the 33's.

Look around on the link below and you'll get some ideas of what XJ builds look like.
