What wheeling in a Jeep means to me.
« on: 08/17/06 - 02:38PM »
 First off I will be the first to say I'm sorry for the way things have been going on the forum lately.  I don't know if it's the heat or what but even at work everyone seems extra bitchy.  All aside lets put that in the past and move on to why we joined OJT.  For me personally going out with a group of fellow Jeepers and taking on obsticals that normally people don't go out of there way to go over or through is where I get the Jeep bug.  I have more fun when you get to a spot that people get out and help each other over, spot through a tough spot, and when it's all done you say that was awesome, that looked good.  I don't have anything against Chadwick it just doesn't have the trill factor for me, it's more of follow the leader.  I go on stock run and more than stock, and in both I look to enjoy the reason I bought a Jeep, to go where others don't.  That doesn't mean you have to tear your rig up, I'm pretty picky with mine because my wife will kill me really hard if I tear it up, breakage, it's going to happen.  Part of breakage prevention is learning what you can a can't do it your Jeep.  I am not trying to devide stockers and non-stockers in the club.  I just don't want every club run to be stock, we have a stocker run Sept 9, which I plan on being at.  We have also planned a non-stocker run that following weekend to step it up a bit, not hardcore just more challenging, I ain't out to see anyone tear their rig up.  Seymour is a great park for the fact you can please all in one location, but keep in mine trail rating aren't alway what they seem, they had stock Libertys on level 3 trail and they had a blast, just don't let trail ratings keep you from trying new things, just remember you own a JEEP.

You hit the nail on the head. That is why I joined the club. As far as trail rateings go your right about that too. Thus the need for good trail guides to help us first timers figure out if we have the skill and the rig to make the run. I am hooked and have the sickness and your right the only real cure is too challenge yourself and build a better rig to get your fix. :redwrang:

I am with Rick on this one except for the wife part ( I got rid of mine) I know my limits and my ZJ's.  Granted I do push them both but that is the fun and why I go out with others so if I do get stuck there is help there.  My jeep is living proof that ratings don't really mean much but is for more than a base line to let ppl have an idea of what to expect.  I have taken it down 3's and made it.  Granted I had a little body damage a few times but that is cause of me not the trail ( the whole pushing the limits) and yes I care about body damage but I still expect it.  I have had to be helped once by the club and several times in the past by anyone who would before I found a club that all shared the same passion.  Granted I havent been a member for that long and not very many ppl on here have any idea who I am but thats there loss.

One last note is there are always going to be disagreements with the number of ppl in the club.  The main thing is going to be working trough them and listen to each other and compromize to come up with a solution
that everyone can live with.  One last thing I could care less about spelling I am not an english teacher or a spelling wizard if ya'll can get the just of what I am saying that is all that maters.
